Seahawks Marshawn Lynch Million Dollar Contract

In an anticipated move, the ‘Hawks have locked up their Skittles-loving superstar. Per multiple reports, the Seahawks signed running back Marshawn Lynch to a four-year, $32 million contract on Sunday. The deal also includes $18 million in guarantees. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the financial details were agreed to a month ago, but wasn’t signed off on by Lynch until today. GM John Schneider, in a brief statement, confirmed the move. “We are excited to keep Marshawn as a part of what we are building. This is what we were hoping for when we acquired him from Buffalo.” This is certainly a fair pact for both parties, considering Lynch was rumored to be seeking DeAngelo Williams money ($8.6 million per season, $21 million of it guaranteed.) Though, that was never a realistic outcome for a career underachiever who already has a ton of wear on his tires for his age (25). However, as Seattle’s lone offensive playmaker, Lynch was destined to pull in maybe a bit more than he’s worth from the team – or another, if he would’ve made it to the open market. It’ll be interesting to see if Lynch can stay in “Beast Mode” this season to justify his new-found wealth.
