MLB Starter Wins Chart – Edge around 19

Although there is always the possibility that my observation is nothing more than regular variance, raw data suggests emotional factors coming into play for a pitcher going for, having, and having past 20 wins. Quite the achievement. The simple thought is this: players put the effort into getting to the milestone (+24 units at 19 wins and a 61.2% win rate). Once they have acheived the feat, they take a breather: -36.9 units at 20 wins and a 52.5% wins rate. As for why a pitcher would struggle the worst at 18 wins...you are welcome to leave a comment. My assumption is two things: 1. Again this is all regular variance (probably the best ... More

***TOP PLAY*** [368] VANDERBILT over Elon -12 (3 units) WINNER! Vanderbilt 45- Elon 12- "I'm backing new head coach James Franklin here. He's got a lot of work to do, but considering the opponent, I'd say he'll have some success like he has had in the past. First year BCS Conference Head Coaches without any head coaching experience crush 1AA opponents by an average of 24.7 points. Since 2006 (the inception of these lines), these teams are 10-4 ATS." In Week 1 I gave ProComputerGambler subscribing members a method for success which yielded this play, and a number of others that brought in the cheddar: simple. ... More

WINNER!

#908 Cincinnati Reds -1 +100 (3 units) WINNER! Leake/Detweiler The Reds faced some righties yesterday, and struggled with offense, but still pulled the win to put themselves only a game back of .500. A couple of scenarios where teams have done well: These are backed by numbers, but it is psychological. Cincinatti (65-66 / now -1 game off a win), Chicago White Sox (64-65 / now -1 game off win), and Toronto (66-65 / now +1 game off loss). Not a ton of weight in that, but it's an interesting trick to think about especially now. Where do teams find motivation? .500 when all hope is lost means something (history says so). Anyways, the ... More
